As you all know production for Season 3 is under way. So that means we will be getting some detailed updates including casting information.
According to TV Guide's Ausiello, Claire's Mom (Meredith) will be returning for 5 more episodes in Season 3.
Here are the details:

Ausiello: Casting scoop! Sources confirm to me exclusively that Jessalyn Gilsig is reprising her role as Claire's white-trash mom for five episodes next season.
